The Second Recovery of The Appaloosa
Fortunately, in recent years, a few Appaloosa groups became alarmed and have begun to take action against further destruction of the breed. One such, The FAHR, denies registry to any horse that is not a foundation Appaloosa, or less than 75% Appaloosa in its pedigree. Although still small in number, these recovery groups represent a growing awareness as to the plight of the present Appaloosa. They certainly must, as the very fate of the breed is at stake. Luckily, this new recovery is under way and we at True Appaloosas are proud to be a part of it.
